Aristocrat apartment B by Thomas Kröger is located at West of the German capital in the rich and vibrant district of Charlottenburg. It can not be denied that everything related to this refined restoration strikes at every level, with a thorough and almost obsessive attention to details that causes pure joy.

Designed for a collector and art enthusiast who also has a wonderful look at 20th-century furniture, the main spaces in the flat act simply as a background or a blank canvas. It would be easy to overlook the amazing craftsmanship that creates this project, looking closer, it becomes clear that every single line and denouement was carefully thought out, testament to the Architect and their full focus on achieving something extraordinary.

Even the corridors in this scheme affect you and become an unusual experience. Huge libraries with neatly located mirrors that play with you visually, and also exaggerate the perspective. This is a topic that we observe throughout the whole project. Look twice, and you will see that going to the next room is actually just a reflection.

The reception rooms maintain the cornice and the decorative details of the ceiling, a sympathetic movement that helps to lift the grandeur of the interior. New details and knots are processed with minimal elegance, which does not diminish or scream about attention, but is in harmony with the original functions.

Unlike the sleek living quarters, uber-lux and the materially rich bathrooms are presented. Here, designers clearly allowed themselves to be freed, wet areas that have their own personalities that appear with color and excitement. We see luxurious stones, such as Persian travertine, exciting textures that crave to be touched, beautiful lumber and bizarre lighting technologies that tend to go beyond the standard. By creating this design choice and allowing small functional spaces to become sensory overload, architect Thomas Kröger Architects showed that they are capable of more than just a smooth, minimal detail, and welcomed the playful side.
