Valldoreix is located in the province of Barcelona. It is not only a residential house. This project is half a house and half an exhibition space for contemporary artwork designed by Spanish studio 05 AM Arquitectura.
The building is located in a residential area of Valldoreix city, the architects was prompted to design a more open space facing the secluded patio.
Four geometric units are installed at different angles like a fan around the perimeter of the building. The double height space between the blocks creates a visual connection between the floors. These four sections provide a clear and consistent functionality of the interior space.
Each of the four spaces constructed at different heights in order to allow natural light to leak through the window, as defined above.
Some of the rooms on the ground floor is used for the display and storage of art works. The garage and service areas are located in two of the four blocks.
The staircase consists of a high green railing, wooden steps and basic part, which forms the whole structure is made of concrete. It leads to an open space — the main living area, which is glazed along its inner edge. Living room and kitchen are located insight the premises, separated from the main axis of the house.
Bright primary colors are scattered everywhere, which balance the deafening concrete greyness.
All four units have a window with the entire floor height and allow the space to be well clarified during the most of the day.
