Location: Los Angeles, USA
Project Year: 2016
Area: 79 m2
Jewellery showroom interior was created by the Los Angeles studio Early Work. You can found Grace Lee jewelry at Steven Alan and Barneys locations across the US. They wanted to create a unique environment in which a firm would be exquisitely combined space for demonstrations of collections and private custom appointments.
79-square-metre loft space located in the heart of the city.
Designers started with the distribution of the space into sections: personal office, exhibition hall, living room, and user area. All four sections flow smoothly into each other, creating effect of a stream.
The set of furniture, fixtures, lighting and decorative elements were designed and built by the Early Work designers order — to demonstrate Grace’s jewelry in the best way, because they are really the only one of a kind.
One of the biggest challenges for the designers was the kitchen, which was impossible to carry, because it wasn’t set in the leasing contract. So, designers have hidden the kitchen by white floor-to-ceiling curtains which elegantly reflect natural light and visually enlarge the space.
The walls are also painted white. In contrast to the bright space the designers created a black floor.
Other finishes are light in tone, with metal and wood accents complementing marble and glass surfaces.
The project involves painting by Mimi Jung, who was one of the founders of Early Work studio with Brian Hurewitz.
