Casa Flora is a modern floral design apartment that invites travelers with the comfort and convenience of a boutique hotel with the added freedom of a private home. Big house in the center of Venice; an open space intended for living, working and socializing in a house where one can see one of the most beautiful cities in the world, feeling like a Venetian for several days.
The project reflects the vision of two people from different worlds, united together: the hotelier Gioele Romanelli and the creative director Diego Pakagnella. Romanelli, born and raised in Venice, is the heir of the hotel, which was held by his family for three generations. Paccagnella is a global entrepreneur and founder of Design-Apart, a platform that brings together handicraft furniture companies from Italy, manufacturing custom-made products with customers in New York. Casa Flora is the result of the unification of these two worlds — hospitality and individual design. The final result is a place that was not previously in the lagoon, which challenges traditional hospitality models and uses design to promote sustainable tourism.
In Casa Flora each piece of furniture is custom made by Italian and local companies, more than 20 were involved in this project, and the entire design layout reflects the images of Venice in modern forms.
The house is divided into two parts: a flexible public space for meetings on one side and a more private place on the other. The main entrance leads directly to the noble floor, which is also the social core of the house. This is a kind of “campo”, which can be used for meals prepared by local craftsmen in the neighboring kitchen, or for meetings related to work.
On the other side, private bedrooms are designed to increase the privacy and well-being of people. The characteristic colors of the Venetian lagoon, such as light pink, green, yellow and blue, are the same as those used for this intimate part of the house. Each room has a dedicated reading area and SPA with a Turkish bath. A wide space for recreation is conceived as a small private garden, a relaxing greenhouse, an integral expansion of the garden in front of Casa Flora.
All that you see in Casa Flora, you can reserve via the Internet, combining a selection of special design elements created by the best Venetians and regional masters.
